Description

This juicy sponge cake with yogurt is an absolute classic and is guaranteed to succeed! I have been making it since I was a child and it is always well received, whether for a birthday, Sunday coffee or just in between. The yogurt makes the cake particularly light and juicy. The preparation is very simple and quick, so even baking beginners can easily achieve a great result. If you like, you can add fresh fruit to the dough or sprinkle the cake with powdered sugar. A truly versatile recipe that you can vary again and again!

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 1 container Yogurt, preferably fruit yogurt
  • 0.5 container Sugar
  • 1 container Oil, neutral
  • 3 container Flour
  • 1 Pck. Baking powder
  • 1 Pck. Vanilla sugar
  • 5 piece Egg(s)
  • 1 Pck. Cake glaze, chocolate

Preparation (6 steps)

Prepare ingredients

Preheat the oven to 150-175 degrees top/bottom heat. Grease a cake tin (approx. 26 cm diameter) and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.

Prepare dough

Put 5 eggs, 0.5 cups of sugar and 1 packet of vanilla sugar in the mixing bowl and beat for 3 min./speed 4 until frothy.

Add liquid ingredients

Add 1 cup of yogurt and 1 cup of neutral oil and stir in for 20 sec./speed 3.

Mix and add dry ingredients

Thermomix® Setting
30 sec/Speed 3

Mix 3 cups of flour and 1 packet of baking powder, add to the mixing bowl and stir in for 30 sec./speed 3. Make sure that all ingredients are well mixed.

Bake dough

Pour the dough into the prepared cake tin and bake in the preheated oven at 150-175 degrees (top/bottom heat) for 40 minutes. Do a chopstick test!

Glaze cake

Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes. Then turn it out of the tin and cover with chocolate glaze. Prepare the glaze according to the package instructions.
