Description

I love preparing this lentils and sausage dish! It is a perfect comfort food for autumn days, when you want something warm and substantial. The sausage adds an extra touch of flavor to the lentils, making the dish even tastier. The preparation is simple and quick, ideal for a family lunch or a dinner with friends. It can be prepared in advance and reheated when serving. A true classic of Italian cuisine, revisited with my faithful Thermomix®!

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 300 g lentils
  • 800 g sausages
  • 150 g mix for sauté
  • 1.5 l vegetable broth
  • 2 foglie bay leaf
  • 2 cucchiai chopped tomatoes
  • olive oil
  • fine salt

Preparation (7 steps)

Preparation of the sauté

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Pour 3 tablespoons of olive oil into the bowl. Add 150 g of mix for sauté and a pinch of fine salt. Cook for 5 minutes/120°C/Speed 1.

Addition of lentils and broth

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 2

Add 300 g of lentils to the bowl and mix for 10 seconds/Speed 2. Add 500 ml of vegetable broth and mix for 5 seconds/Speed 2.

Flavoring

Thermomix® Setting
5 sec/Speed 2

Add 2 bay leaves and 2 tablespoons of chopped tomatoes. Mix for 5 seconds/Speed 2. Add another 500 ml of vegetable broth and mix for 5 seconds/Speed 2.

Cooking the lentils

20 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Close the bowl and cook for 20 minutes/100°C/Speed 1.

Addition of the sausage

Thermomix® Setting
5 sec/Speed 2

Cut 800 g of sausage into chunks. Add the sausage to the bowl and mix for 5 seconds/Speed 2. Add the remaining 500 ml of vegetable broth and mix for 5 seconds/Speed 2.

Final cooking

15 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Cook for another 15 minutes/100°C/Speed 1.

Adjust with salt

Thermomix® Setting
5 sec/Speed 2

Taste and, if necessary, adjust with fine salt. Mix for 5 seconds/Speed 2.
