Description

This hearty meatloaf on potato gratin, prepared in the Thermomix®, is a savory family meal. The main ingredients are mixed ground meat, potatoes, and stale bread rolls. The preparation of the casserole takes a total of 90 minutes, of which 45 minutes are active working time. The recipe is ideal for 6 servings and is perfect for lovers of classic, down-to-earth cuisine.

  • 500 g mixed ground meat
  • 1 Stück bread rolls (stale)
  • 1 Stück Egg
  • 1 TL Mustard
  • 0.5 TL Salt
  • 0.25 TL Pepper
  • 0.5 TL Paprika powder
  • 0.25 TL Marjoram
  • 1 Bund Parsley
  • 1000 g Potatoes
  • 2 Stück Onions
  • 20 g Oil
  • 200 ml Cream
  • 200 ml Milk
  • 0.25 TL Nutmeg
  • 100 g grated Cheese

Preparation (9 steps)

Chop onions

Peel and quarter 2 onions. Place in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 5.

Sauté onions

Add 20 g oil to the onions in the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Prepare ground meat

Put 500 g mixed ground meat, 1 soaked bread roll (squeezed out), 1 egg, 1 tsp mustard, salt, pepper, paprika powder, marjoram and parsley in a bowl and mix well.

Shape and sear meatloaf

Shape the ground meat mixture into a loaf. Heat oil in a separate pan and sear the meatloaf on all sides.

Prepare potatoes

Peel 1 kg potatoes and cut into approx. 3 mm thick slices.

Prepare gratin sauce

Mix the sautéed onions in the mixing bowl with 200 ml cream, 200 ml milk, salt, pepper and nutmeg. 10 sec./speed 3.

Layer potatoes and sauce

Grease a casserole dish with some oil. Place half of the potato slices in the dish, pour half of the sauce over it. Place the seared meatloaf on top. Distribute the remaining potato slices around the roast like roof tiles and pour the remaining sauce over it.

Bake gratin

Bake the casserole in a preheated oven at 200°C top/bottom heat for approx. 45 minutes.

Melt cheese

After 45 minutes, sprinkle 100 g grated cheese over the casserole and bake for another 15 minutes until the cheese is golden brown.
