Description

This Poppy Seed Cake Artje is a delicious cake that is perfect for coffee gatherings or birthdays. The cake consists of a simple dough, a creamy curd topping and crispy crumbles. Preparation takes about 75 minutes and yields 12 servings. Ideal for anyone who loves a juicy and aromatic cake.

  • 250 g Butter
  • 250 g Sugar
  • 2 Stück Eggs
  • 500 g Flour
  • 1 Päckchen Baking powder
  • 500 g Curd
  • 3 Stück Eggs
  • 3 Päckchen Poppy seed mix
  • 1 Päckchen Cream stiffener
  • 2 EL Lemon juice
  • 0.25 TL Sugar
  • 250 g Butter
  • 250 g Sugar
  • 350 g Flour
  • 1 Päckchen Vanilla sugar

Preparation (5 steps)

Prepare dough

Add 250g butter, 250g sugar and 2 eggs to the mixing bowl and mix for 3 min./speed 4.

Mix flour and baking powder

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/Kneading speed

Add 500g flour and 1 packet of baking powder to the mixing bowl. Insert Patix dough knife and process into a dough for 2 min./kneading stage.

Prepare topping

Add 500g curd, 3 eggs, 3 packets of poppy seed mix, 1 packet of cream stiffener, 2 tbsp lemon juice and some sugar to the mixing bowl and mix for 2 min./speed 3.

Prepare crumbles

Thermomix® Setting
30 sec/Speed 4

Add 250g butter, 250g sugar, 350g flour and 1 packet of vanilla sugar to the mixing bowl and process into crumbles for 30 sec./speed 4.

Bake cake

Place the dough on a baking sheet and spread the topping on top. Sprinkle the crumbles over it and bake in a preheated oven at 160°C convection for approx. 1 hour.
