Description

This orange scented chocolate mousse is a simple and elegant dessert, perfect for finishing a meal on a gourmet note. I often prepare it for the end of year celebrations, because the combination of dark chocolate and orange brings a festive and comforting touch. The preparation is quick with the Thermomix®, but you have to allow resting time in the refrigerator so that the mousse takes on an ideal consistency. The candied orange zest adds a sweet and tangy note that enhances the chocolate. A real treat for chocolate lovers!

Ingredients (6 ingredients)

  • 150 g of powdered sugar or granulated sugar
  • 2 c. à s. of milk
  • 4 piece eggs
  • 1 piece zest of untreated orange
  • to taste Candied orange zest
  • 100 g of dark chocolate

Chocolate and milk to melt

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/122°F/Speed 2 50

Put the dark chocolate cut into pieces and the milk in the Thermomix bowl. Melt for 3 Min./50°C/Stufe 2.

Egg yolks and sugar to mix

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 4

Separate the egg whites from the egg yolks. Put the egg yolks and the powdered sugar in the Thermomix bowl. Mix for 20 Sek./Stufe 4.

Orange zest to incorporate

Add the zest of untreated orange cut into small pieces and the candied orange zest to the melted chocolate. Mix gently with a spatula.

Egg whites to beat until stiff

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/Speed 3.5

Insert the whisk. Put the egg whites in the Thermomix bowl. Beat the egg whites until stiff for 3 Min./Stufe 3.5.

Delicate mixture

Remove the whisk. Gently incorporate the beaten egg whites into the chocolate mixture using a spatula.

Rest in the refrigerator

Divide the mousse into individual ramekins. Let stand in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours, ideally overnight.
