Description

This Pad Kra Pao recipe is a quick and spicy Thai stir-fry, ideal as a main course for 2 servings. The dish combines minced meat with aromatic ingredients such as chili, garlic and Thai basil. Preparation in the Thermomix® simplifies the process and saves time. Perfect for a hearty lunch or dinner.

Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 250 g Minced meat
  • 1 Stück small Onion
  • 2 Zehen Garlic
  • 1 Stück red Chili pepper
  • 2 EL Vegetable oil
  • 2 EL Soy sauce
  • 1 EL Oyster sauce
  • 1 TL Fish sauce
  • 1 TL Sugar
  • 1 EL Water
  • 1 Bund Thai basil

Preparation (7 steps)

Prepare onion and garlic

Thermomix® Setting
3 sec/Speed 5, 3 sec/Speed 7

Add 1 small onion (approx. 50g) peeled to the mixing bowl and chop for 3 seconds/speed 5. Add 2 cloves of garlic and chop for 3 seconds/speed 7. If necessary, scrape down the sides with the spatula.

Sauté onion and garlic

Add 2 tbsp vegetable oil to the onions and garlic in the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Prepare chili pepper

Thermomix® Setting
3 sec/Speed 7

Core 1 red chili pepper (depending on the desired spiciness) and add to the mixing bowl. Chop for 3 seconds/speed 7. If necessary, scrape down the sides with the spatula.

Add sauce and simmer

5 min/212°F/Speed 1 212°F

Add 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp oyster sauce, 1 tsp fish sauce, 1 tsp sugar and 1 tbsp water to the mixing bowl and simmer for 5 min./100°C/speed 1.

Fry meat

Brown 250 g of minced meat in a separate pan with some oil until crumbly.

Add meat and basil

Add the fried minced meat and 1 bunch of Thai basil (approx. 20g) to the mixing bowl and stir in for 2 min./90°C/reverse rotation speed 1.

Serve Pad Kra Pao with rice. Garnish with a fried egg, optional.
