Description

This seafood paella is a dish that always triumphs at home. The combination of rice with the flavor of fresh seafood is simply irresistible. Preparing it in the Thermomix® greatly facilitates the process, ensuring a perfect result full of flavor. Ideal for a family meal or a special celebration, this paella is a delicious and relatively simple option to prepare. Ingredients (12 ingredients)

  • 400 gramos round grain rice
  • 8 unidades prawns or king prawns
  • 1 piece cuttlefish or squid
  • 100 gramos mussels or clams
  • 1 piece green pepper
  • 2 dientes garlic
  • 3 unidades tomatoes
  • 6 cucharadas soperas crushed tomato
  • 1 cucharada postre rice coloring or saffron threads
  • 1.2 litros fish stock
  • 1 chorro olive oil
  • 1 pinch salt

Preparation (8 steps)

Initial preparation of the vegetables

Peel the 2 cloves of garlic and cut the green pepper into pieces. Put the garlic and pepper into the Thermomix® bowl and chop for 3 seconds at speed 5.

Base sofrito

Add a splash of olive oil to the bowl. Program the Thermomix® for 5 minutes at 120°C and speed 1 to sauté the garlic and pepper.

Add the tomato

Add the 3 grated tomatoes (or 5-6 tablespoons of crushed tomato) to the bowl. Program the Thermomix® for 8 minutes at 120°C and speed 1 to cook the sofrito.

Incorporate the cuttlefish

5 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Add the cuttlefish or squid cut into pieces to the bowl. Program the Thermomix® for 5 minutes at 120°C and speed 1.

Add the rice and stock

Add the 400 grams of round grain rice, the 1.2 liters of fish stock, the tablespoon of rice coloring (or saffron threads) and a pinch of salt to the bowl. Stir with the spatula to integrate the ingredients.

Rice cooking

5 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Program the Thermomix® for 5 minutes at 100°C and speed 1. Then, lower the temperature to 95°C and program 12 more minutes at speed 1.

Finish cooking

Thermomix® Setting
12 min/203°F/Speed 1 95

Lower the temperature to 95°C and program 12 more minutes at speed 1. Add the mussels and prawns to the bowl during the last 5 minutes of cooking.

Final rest

Once the cooking is finished, let the seafood paella rest inside the Thermomix® for 5 minutes before serving.
