Description

This apple pie is a poem! I've been making it since I was a child and it's always a hit. The special thing about this cake is the ratio of apples to dough. It seems like a lot, but don't worry, the dough encloses the apples perfectly and ensures a juicy pleasure. The many apples keep the cake wonderfully juicy and aromatic. It tastes particularly good with a dollop of whipped cream. Ideal for Sunday coffee or as a gift for brunch. An absolute must for all apple pie lovers!

3

Prepare and fold in apples

Peel 1.5 kg of apples, core them and cut them into large pieces (e.g. eighths). Put the apple pieces in a bowl and pour the dough from the mixing bowl over them. Carefully fold in with a spatula.

4

Bake cake

Grease a 26 springform pan with plenty of fat. Pour the dough with the apples into the mold and smooth it out a little. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C top/bottom heat on the lower rack for approx. 50 to 55 minutes.

5

Refine cake

After 45 minutes, remove the cake from the oven, spread with plenty of butter and sprinkle with plenty of sugar or cinnamon-sugar mixture. Then finish baking.

6

Adjust baking time

If the cake turns brown earlier, simply cover the cake with baking paper for the rest of the baking time.
