Description

I love baking burger buns myself! These homemade burger buns are simply delicious and much better than store-bought ones. They are nice and fluffy and have a great crust. The recipe is super easy to prepare with the Thermomix®. Perfect for a cozy burger night with friends or family. The preparation takes a little time, but the result is definitely worth it. The buns go perfectly with burgers, pulled pork or simply for breakfast with nut-nougat cream. An absolute must for all burger lovers!

Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 200 ml Water, lukewarm
  • 4 tbsp Milk
  • 1 cube Fresh yeast
  • 35 g Sugar
  • 10 g Salt
  • 80 g Butter melted
  • 500 g Wheat flour Type 550
  • 1 piece Egg(s)
  • 1 piece Egg(s)
  • 2 tbsp Water
  • 2 tbsp Milk

Preparation (7 steps)

Activate yeast

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/99°F/Speed 2 37

Put 200 ml lukewarm water, 4 tbsp milk and 35 g sugar into the mixing bowl. Crumble in 1 cube of fresh yeast and stir for 3 min./37°C/speed 2. Let the mixture rest in the mixing bowl for about 10 minutes.

Prepare dough

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/Kneading speed

Add 500 g wheat flour Type 550, 10 g salt, 1 egg and 80 g melted butter to the mixing bowl and knead for 5 min./kneading stage to a smooth dough.

Let dough rise

Remove the dough from the mixing bowl and place in a bowl. Cover with a dish towel and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.

Shape rolls

Divide the dough into 10 pieces of approx. 90 g each and form into balls. Distribute the dough balls on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. It is best to flour the work surface and your hands a little, as the dough is very sticky.

Let rolls rise again

Cover the shaped rolls and let rise for another hour. In the meantime, mix 1 egg, 2 tbsp milk and 2 tbsp water in a bowl.

Brush rolls

Put the egg-milk mixture into the mixing bowl and mix for 5 sec./speed 3. Carefully brush the rolls with the egg-milk mixture and sprinkle with some sesame seeds.

Bake rolls

Bake the rolls for approx. 16 - 20 min. in the oven preheated to 200 °C with top/bottom heat and then let them cool down a little.
