Description

This Brussels sprout mushroom pan is a hearty and quick dish that tastes especially good in autumn. I like to make it when I need something quick and still want something hearty on the table. The Brussels sprouts get a pleasant consistency from the short pre-cooking and the mushrooms provide a spicy taste. The diced bacon gives the whole thing an additional hearty note. If you like, you can add some garlic. An absolute favorite recipe for the cold season!

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 1 piece red Onion
  • 600 g Brussels sprouts
  • 500 g Mushrooms
  • 2 tbsp Clarified butter
  • 100 g Diced bacon
  • 2 tbsp Chopped parsley or thyme
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Preparation (7 steps)

Chop onion

Put a red onion in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 5. Then transfer to a bowl.

Prepare Brussels sprouts

Remove the outer leaves from the Brussels sprouts and cut out the lower part of the stalk. Then halve the 600g florets and set aside.

Prepare mushrooms

Halve or quarter 500g mushrooms and set aside.

Cook Brussels sprouts

Add Brussels sprout florets to boiling, salted water and cook for 8-10 minutes, then quench in cold water.

Fry bacon

Heat 2 tbsp clarified butter in a large pan and fry 100g diced bacon in it.

Fry mushrooms and onions

Add the prepared mushrooms to the diced bacon in the pan and fry for 5 minutes. Then add the chopped onion and fry everything again for 3 minutes.

Add Brussels sprouts and herbs

Stir in the cooked Brussels sprouts and 2 tbsp chopped parsley (or thyme) and season the Brussels sprout mushroom pan with salt and pepper.
