Description

Dieses süß-saure Hähnchen mit Ananas ist ein absoluter Klassiker, der immer gut ankommt! Ich mache es gerne, wenn ich Gäste habe, weil es sich super vorbereiten lässt. Das Hähnchen wird zuerst angebraten und dann in einer leckeren Soße mit Ananas, Sojasauce und braunem Zucker geschmort. Die Kombination aus süß und sauer ist einfach unwiderstehlich. Serviert mit Reis ist es ein perfektes, sättigendes Gericht für die ganze Familie. Wer es etwas schärfer mag, kann noch eine Prise Chili hinzufügen.

Ingredients (12 ingredients)

  • 1 piece whole chicken, cut into pieces (2 to 3 pound)
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 pinch ground white pepper
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 0.5 piece onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 piece green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 8 ounce crushed pineapple with juice
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons chicken stock

Preparation (7 steps)

Prepare Chicken Coating

In a resealable plastic bag, mix 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons salt, and 1 pinch ground white pepper. One at a time, put chicken pieces in bag, seal and shake to coat. Set aside.

Sauté Chicken

In a large skillet, heat 4 tablespoons vegetable oil over medium heat and sauté chicken pieces until brown on all sides. Place chicken in a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking dish and bake covered in the preheated oven for 45 minutes at 175°C.

Chop Onion and Bell Pepper

Place ½ onion, thinly sliced, into the mixing bowl and chop for 3 seconds / level 5.

Sauté Onion and Bell Pepper

Add 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced, and 2 tablespoons vegetable oil to the mixing bowl. Sauté for 3 minutes / 120°C / level 1.

Add Pineapple and Soy Sauce

3 min/212°F/Speed 2 100

Add 1 (8 ounce) can crushed pineapple with juice, 2 teaspoons soy sauce, and 2 teaspoons brown sugar to the mixing bowl. Cook for 3 minutes / 100°C / level 2.

Thicken Sauce

3 min/212°F/Speed 2 100

Mix together 2 teaspoons cornstarch and 2 teaspoons chicken stock. Add to the mixing bowl and cook for 3 minutes / 100°C / level 2 until thick and clear.

Pour sauce over chicken and bake 10 more minutes until tender at 175°C.
