Description

These pork skewers are a delightful treat, perfect for parties or a hearty snack. I've been making them for years, and they always disappear quickly! The pork is incredibly tender, and the crispy breading adds a satisfying crunch. The combination of salt, pepper, and seasoned salt gives it a wonderful savory flavor. While the original recipe calls for deep-frying, I've adapted it for the Thermomix® to make the breading process easier. These skewers are best served warm, straight from the oven. They're also great for meal prepping – just assemble the skewers ahead of time and fry them when you're ready to eat!

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 907 g boneless pork, cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes
  • 14 piece 4-inch skewers
  • salt
  • ground black pepper
  • seasoned salt
  • 4 piece eggs
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 2 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
  • 2 cup vegetable oil for frying

Preparation (8 steps)

Prepare the Pork

Cut the boneless pork into 1 1/2-inch cubes. Thread 2 or 3 cubes of pork onto each of the 14 skewers. Season the pork on all sides with salt, ground black pepper, and seasoned salt to taste. Set the skewers aside.

Prepare Egg Mixture

In a bowl, whisk together the 4 eggs and 3 tablespoons of milk. Set aside.

Prepare Bread Crumbs

Place the 2 cups of Italian seasoned bread crumbs in a separate bowl. Set aside.

Prepare Baking Dish

Pour 2 cups of water into a 9x13-inch baking dish with a wire rack set in the dish. Set the dish aside. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Heat Oil

Heat 2 cups of vegetable oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Bread the Skewers

Dip each pork skewer into the egg mixture, then press into the bread crumbs to coat. Dip the pork skewers a second time into the egg mixture and then into the bread crumbs.

Fry the Skewers

Carefully lower the pork skewers into the hot oil in batches. Fry until crisp and golden, about 3 minutes per side. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Repeat with remaining pork skewers.

Bake the Skewers

Arrange the fried pork skewers on the wire rack in the baking dish. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil. Carefully transfer the baking dish into the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for 10 minutes more to dry out the crumb coating.
