Description

This recipe for potato meatballs from the oven is a hearty and straightforward dish that I always enjoy preparing. The small potatoes are prepared in the Thermomix® and then baked with the meatballs in the oven. The result is a delicious dish with a creamy yogurt-dill sauce and a touch of sweetness from the lingonberries. Perfect for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner with friends and family. The preparation is very simple and guaranteed to succeed! If you like, you can add some fresh rosemary.

Ingredients (17 ingredients)

  • 600 g small new potatoes
  • 1 Stück Onion
  • 1 Zehe Garlic
  • 1 TL Butter
  • 600 g mixed minced meat
  • 1 Stück Egg (size M)
  • 4 EL Breadcrumbs
  • nach Geschmack Salt
  • nach Geschmack Pepper
  • nach Geschmack Sugar
  • 3 EL Olive oil
  • 150 g Whole milk yogurt
  • 2 EL White wine vinegar
  • 1 TL coarse Mustard
  • 0.5 Stück Cucumber
  • 3 Stiele Dill
  • 4 EL Game Lingonberries (jar)

Preparation (10 steps)

Prepare potatoes

Thermomix® Setting
25 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Put 600 g of small new potatoes into the mixing bowl and cover with water. Insert steamer basket and cook for 25 min./100°C/speed 1.

Chop onion and garlic

Thermomix® Setting
3 sec/Speed 5

Put 1 peeled and quartered onion and 1 clove of garlic into the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 5. Scrape down with the spatula.

Sauté onion and garlic

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Add 1 tsp butter and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Prepare minced meat

Put 600 g mixed minced meat, 1 egg (size M), 4 tbsp breadcrumbs, salt, pepper and a pinch of sugar in a bowl and mix well. Form small balls from the mixture.

Fry meatballs

Heat 3 tbsp olive oil in a pan and fry the meatballs all around.

Crush potatoes

Remove the cooked potatoes from the mixing bowl, let them cool slightly and lightly crush (smash) with a fork.

Preheat oven and bake dish

Preheat the oven to 200°C top/bottom heat. Spread the crushed potatoes and the fried meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for approx. 20 minutes until golden brown.

Prepare yogurt-dill sauce

Put 150 g whole milk yogurt, 2 tbsp white wine vinegar, 1 tsp coarse mustard, salt and pepper into the mixing bowl and stir for 10 sec./speed 3.

Add cucumber and dill

Thermomix® Setting
5 sec/Linkslauf Speed 2 Reverse

Peel, core and dice ½ cucumber. Finely chop 3 sprigs of dill. Add cucumber and dill to the yogurt sauce in the mixing bowl and stir in for 5 sec./reverse rotation speed 2.

Serve

Serve the oven-baked potato meatballs with the yogurt-dill sauce and 4 tbsp game lingonberries.
