Description

This recipe for braised chicken in vegetable sauce is a real classic that is easy to prepare and tastes good to the whole family. I like to make it when I need to be quick, but still want something hearty on the table. The chicken becomes wonderfully tender and juicy, while the vegetable sauce with carrots, onions and garlic forms an aromatic base. The Thermomix® makes preparation particularly easy. Served with rice or mashed potatoes, it is a perfect, filling dish for every day. A dash of white wine rounds off the aroma.

Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 2 piece Chicken drumsticks
  • 1 piece Carrot
  • 0.5 piece Onion
  • 300 ml Chicken or vegetable stock
  • 1 tsp Chopped garlic
  • 1 tbsp White wine
  • 1 Blatt Bay leaf
  • 0.25 tsp Cumin
  • 0.25 tsp Pepper
  • to taste Salt
  • Oil

Preparation (7 steps)

Prepare vegetables

Peel the carrot and cut into slices. Peel and halve the onion. Peel the garlic.

Chop onion and garlic

Thermomix® Setting
3 sec/Speed 5, 3 sec/Speed 7

Put the halved onion in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 5. Add the garlic and chop for 3 sec./speed 7. Use the spatula to push everything down from the edge.

Sauté onion and garlic

Thermomix® Setting

Add some oil to the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Add and sauté carrots

Thermomix® Setting

Add the carrot slices to the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Add chicken and remaining ingredients

Add the chicken (Truto de Pollo), chicken or vegetable stock, white wine, bay leaf, cumin, pepper and salt to the mixing bowl.

Braise chicken

Thermomix® Setting
30 min/212°F/Speed 1/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Close the mixing bowl and cook for 30 min./100°C/speed 1/reverse. After the cooking time has elapsed, check whether the chicken is cooked. If not, extend the cooking time by a further 10 minutes.

Serve

Serve the braised chicken with the vegetable sauce. Rice or mashed potatoes go well with this.
