Description

This Indonesian marble butter cake is a juicy and aromatic cake that is perfect with coffee or tea. It is prepared with the Thermomix®, which makes mixing the ingredients easier. The cake consists of a mixture of butter and margarine, powdered sugar, eggs, flour and milk powder, with part of the dough marbled with cocoa. Ideal for festive occasions or just for enjoying in the afternoon.

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 8 Stück Egg yolks
  • 4 Stück Egg whites
  • 250 g Powdered sugar
  • 200 g Butter
  • 130 g Margarine
  • 200 g Flour (medium protein content)
  • 25 g Milk powder
  • 2 EL Cocoa powder
  • 40 g Sweetened condensed milk

Preparation (8 steps)

Beat butter and powdered sugar

Add 200 g butter and 250 g powdered sugar to the mixing bowl and beat for 3 min./speed 4 until the mixture is significantly increased.

Add egg yolks and condensed milk

Reduce the speed to level 3. Add 8 egg yolks one by one through the lid opening and stir in 40 g of sweetened condensed milk. 1 min./speed 3.

Mix dry ingredients

Lower the speed to level 2. Gradually add 200 g flour, 25 g milk powder through the lid opening. 1 min./speed 2.

Divide dough and add cocoa

Divide the dough into two halves. Place one half in a separate bowl. Add 2 tablespoons (30 g) of cocoa powder to the other half in the mixing bowl and stir for 20 sec./speed 3.

Beat egg whites until stiff

Beat 4 egg whites in a separate bowl with a hand mixer until stiff.

Fold in egg whites

Carefully fold the stiff egg whites into both doughs.

Marble dough

Pour the two doughs alternately into a greased and floured cake pan to create a marble pattern.

Baking

Preheat the oven to 180 °C for 15 minutes. Then bake the cake at 150–160 °C for approx. 50–60 minutes.
