Description

This hearty cabbage-minced meat-composition is a savory dish that is quick to prepare and wonderfully filling. The pointed cabbage is processed together with minced meat and carrots into a tasty meal. I especially like to make this pan in autumn, when pointed cabbage is in season. Served with a dollop of sour cream and fresh parsley, it's a real comfort food. If you like, you can add some chili for a slight spiciness. Ideal for a quick lunch or dinner!

Ingredients (12 ingredients)

  • 1 piece Onion
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 1 kg Pointed cabbage
  • 3 piece small Carrots
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 500 g Minced meat
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 0.5 tsp Caraway
  • 300 ml Vegetable broth
  • Sour cream for serving
  • chopped Parsley for serving

Preparation (7 steps)

Chop onion and garlic

Thermomix® Setting
3 sec/Speed 5

Peel, quarter the onion and put it in the mixing bowl together with the garlic clove. Chop for 3 sec./level 5. Use the spatula to push everything down from the edge.

Prepare vegetables

Clean the pointed cabbage, remove the outer leaves, quarter it, remove the stalk and cut into bite-sized pieces. Peel and clean the carrots and cut into thin slices. Set both aside.

Sauté onion and garlic

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Add 2 tbsp of oil to the onions and garlic in the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/level 1.

Fry minced meat

Fry the minced meat in a large pan with some oil until crumbly. Season with salt, pepper and caraway.

Mix minced meat, onion-garlic mixture and vegetables

Add the fried minced meat, the onion-garlic mixture from the mixing bowl, the carrots and the pointed cabbage to the pan. Mix everything well and fry for about 5 minutes over high heat.

Let simmer

Pour in approx. 300 ml vegetable broth and let the pointed cabbage-minced meat-pan simmer for approx. 10 minutes until the cabbage has the desired consistency.

Serve

Serve the pointed cabbage-minced meat-pan with sour cream and chopped parsley.
