Description

This rustic basquaise chicken is a comforting and tasty dish, perfect for autumn or winter evenings. I have been making this recipe for years and it is always a success with my family and friends. The chicken is tender and juicy, and the sauce is rich and fragrant thanks to the peppers, tomatoes and ham. Preparation is quick and easy with the Thermomix®, making it an ideal dish for days when you have little time. Serve it with rice for a complete and delicious meal. A real treat!

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 700 g Chicken
  • 2 piece Pepper
  • 2 piece Onion
  • 2 clove Garlic
  • 2 slice Bayonne Ham
  • 1 kg Tomato
  • 1 c. à café Flour
  • White wine
  • Olive oil
  • 1 bouquet Bouquet garni

Preparation (9 steps)

Chicken preparation

Cut the chicken into pieces (about 6 pieces per scallop). Then flour the chicken pieces with 1 tsp of flour. Set aside.

Ham preparation

Roll the 2 slices of ham like a cigarette and cut them into strips. Set aside.

Vegetable preparation

Cut the 2 onions in half and put them in the Thermomix bowl. Add the 2 cloves of garlic. Chop finely for 3 Sek./Stufe 5. Transfer and set aside.

Cutting the vegetables

Cut the 1 kg of tomatoes into large dice and the 2 peppers into squares. Set aside.

Browning the chicken and ham

In a hot pan with olive oil, add the floured chicken pieces and the ham in strips. Brown the chicken on all sides. Set aside.

Cooking the vegetables

Pour a little olive oil into the Thermomix bowl. Add the chopped onions and garlic. Cook 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Adding other ingredients

Add the diced tomatoes, squared peppers, browned chicken, ham, bouquet garni and half a glass of white wine to the Thermomix bowl.

Simmer for 50 Min./100°C/Stufe 1/Linkslauf.

Once cooking is complete, remove the bouquet garni. Serve hot, accompanied by rice.
