Description

This hearty meat stew is an absolute classic for cold days! I've been making it since I was a child and it simply warms the soul. The beef becomes wonderfully tender and the smoked sausages give the whole thing a great spice. With potatoes, tomatoes and onions it is a complete dish. A dash of paprika is of course a must! Perfect for a cozy dinner with friends or family. It can also be prepared very well and tastes almost even better when warmed up!

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 600 g Beef
  • 2 piece Smoked sausage(s)
  • 3 piece Onion(s)
  • 3 piece Tomato(es)
  • 3 piece Potato(es)
  • 2 tablette Beef broth
  • 2 c. à soupe Oil
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 0.5 c. à café Paprika

Preparation (8 steps)

Chop onions and garlic

Thermomix® Setting

Add 3 peeled and quartered onions and 1 clove of garlic to the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 5. Scrape down with the spatula.

Prepare vegetables

Peel 3 potatoes and cut into coarse cubes. Blanch 3 tomatoes in boiling water for 30 seconds, peel, core and roughly chop.

Prepare bouillon

Dissolve 2 tablets of beef bouillon and 0.5 tsp of paprika in 500 ml of boiling water.

Sear meat

Cut 600 g of beef into 8 pieces. Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan and sear the meat in portions until it is brown all over. Remove the seared meat from the pan and set aside.

Sauté onions and garlic

Add 2 tbsp of oil to the chopped onions and garlic in the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Add meat and bouillon

Thermomix® Setting
60 min/212°F/Speed 1/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Add the seared meat to the mixing bowl. Pour the prepared bouillon over it. Cook for 60 min./100°C/speed 1/reverse.

Add vegetables and sausage

Thermomix® Setting
30 min/212°F/Speed 1/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Add the diced potatoes, chopped tomatoes and 2 smoked sausages (whole or sliced) to the mixing bowl. Cook for another 30 min./100°C/speed 1/reverse.

Serve

Pour the stew into a bowl and serve hot.
