Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 100 g Butter
  • 6 Stück Eggs
  • 375 g Beet syrup
  • 2 EL Rum or brandy
  • 1.5 TL Gingerbread spice
  • 2 EL Cocoa
  • 1 Stück Grated orange zest
  • 225 g Flour
  • 225 g Chopped or grated nuts or almonds (possibly mixed)
  • 2 TL Baking powder
  • 400 g Dark chocolate glaze

Preparation (6 steps)

Mix butter, eggs and beet syrup

Add butter, eggs and beet syrup to the mixing bowl and mix for 30 sec./speed 4.

Add rum, spices and orange zest

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 3

Add rum or brandy, gingerbread spice, cocoa and grated orange zest to the mixing bowl and mix for 20 sec./speed 3.

Chop nuts

Place the nuts with the Wundermix WunderSlicer V2 and the coarse disc on the mixing bowl lid and chop the nuts. Collect the chopped material.

Mix flour, nuts and baking powder

Add flour, chopped nuts and baking powder to the mixing bowl and mix for 30 sec./speed 3.

Bake dough

Grease a high baking sheet and spread the dough on it. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C for 50-60 minutes.

Prepare chocolate glaze and cover cake

After cooling, cover with dark chocolate glaze (400g/sheet). Cut the cake into slices and let it sit in a tin for a few days.
