Description

A classic of Italian cuisine revisited with the help of our trusted Thermomix®! Sage chicken thighs with baked potatoes are a simple but flavorful dish, perfect for a family dinner or a Sunday lunch. Sage, with its unmistakable scent, perfectly complements the white meat of the chicken, while the baked potatoes become crispy and golden. I prepare it often, because it is quick, cheap and everyone likes it! A tip? Try adding a pinch of rosemary for an extra touch!

Ingredients (6 ingredients)

  • Chicken thighs and drumsticks
  • Potatoes
  • Sage
  • Extra virgin olive oil (EVO)
  • Salt
  • Black pepper

Preparation (5 steps)

Chicken preparation

Make an incision in the chicken skin between the thigh and drumstick, then insert the sage leaves between the skin and the pulp of the chicken piece. Transfer the chicken thighs and drumsticks to a baking tray greased with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, add some more sage leaves, salt and pepper.

First baking in the oven

Bake for 10 minutes at 180°C if the oven is ventilated or at 200°C if it is static.

Potato preparation

In the meantime, cut the potatoes into small pieces. Put the cut potatoes in the microwave with a little oil for 2 minutes at maximum power, covered with a sheet of transparent film suitable for microwave cooking.

Adding potatoes and second cooking

Remove the chicken from the oven, turn the pieces and add the potatoes. Adjust the salt and pepper to both the chicken and the potatoes.

Final baking in the oven

Bake again for about half an hour, or until the chicken and potatoes are cooked to your liking.
