Description

This hearty meat and vegetable pan is an absolute highlight for cozy evenings! I especially like to make it in autumn when the vegetables are fresh from the market. The pork is nicely seared and then braised with onions, mushrooms, peppers and peas in a creamy sauce of pineapple, tomato paste, ketchup, curry, pineapple and tomato juice. The cream ensures a particularly creamy consistency. The aromas develop wonderfully when cooked in the oven. A dish that can be prepared well and is perfect for a larger group. A fresh bread goes well with it!

Ingredients (16 ingredients)

  • 1 kg Pork (loin), cut into small cubes
  • 500 g Vegetable onions, diced
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • to taste Sweet paprika powder
  • 750 g Mushrooms, freshly sliced
  • 500 g Peas, fresh
  • 0.5 piece Pineapple, fresh, pureed
  • 2 piece Bell peppers, red
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 250 ml Ketchup
  • 2 tsp Curry powder
  • 250 ml Pineapple juice
  • 250 ml Tomato juice
  • 500 ml Cream for cooking (15% fat)

Preparation (9 steps)

Chop onions

Add 500 g of diced vegetable onions to the mixing bowl and chop for 5 sec./speed 5.

Sauté onions

Add 3 tbsp of oil to the onions in the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Sear meat

Cut 1 kg of pork (loin) into small cubes, season with salt, pepper and sweet paprika powder and sear on all sides in a pan with some oil. Remove the meat from the pan and set aside.

Add and sauté mushrooms

Add 750 g of fresh sliced mushrooms to the onions in the mixing bowl and sauté for 5 min./120°C/speed 1.

Add peppers and peas

Roast 2 red bell peppers in the oven, dice and add to the mixing bowl together with 500 g fresh peas. Add 2 tbsp of tomato paste and sauté for 1 min./120°C/speed 1.

Add pineapple puree

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 3

Puree 0.5 fresh pineapple and add to the mixing bowl. Mix everything for 10 sec./speed 3.

Add liquids and spices

Thermomix® Setting

Add 250 ml ketchup, 2 tsp curry powder, 250 ml pineapple juice, 250 ml tomato juice and 500 ml cream for cooking (15% fat) to the mixing bowl. Also add the seared meat. Mix everything for 10 sec./speed 3.

Simmer in the oven

Transfer the contents of the mixing bowl to a roasting pan, cover and braise in a preheated oven at 150°C convection for 60 minutes.

Season and Serve

After braising, remove the soup from the oven, stir and season with some chili if necessary. Serve with fresh white bread.
