Ingredients (6 ingredients)

  • 0.5 Würfel Yeast
  • 350 ml lukewarm water
  • 700 g spelt flour
  • 3 TL Salt
  • 150 g plain yogurt
  • 1 TL brown sugar

Preparation (5 steps)

Dissolve yeast

Add the yeast to the mixing bowl and add the lukewarm water. Stir for 2 min./37°C/speed 2.

Prepare the dough

5 min/Kneading speed

Add spelt flour, salt, plain yogurt and brown sugar to the mixing bowl and knead for 5 min./kneading setting to form a dough.

Let the dough rise

Place the dough in a bowl and let it rise covered in a warm place for 60 minutes.

Bake the bread

Place the dough in a cast iron pot with a lid. Place the pot in the cold oven and bake at 180°C top/bottom heat for approx. 50 minutes.

Finish baking the bread

Remove the lid from the pot and increase the temperature to 220°C. Bake the bread for another 5-8 minutes until the crust is nicely browned.
