Description

This filled puff pastry strudel with ham and cheese is a savory finger food that is ideal as an appetizer or main course. Preparation is quick and easy, making it perfect for student cooking or as a snack in between meals. The strudel is rich in protein and can be refined with herbs as desired. The baking time is about 10-12 minutes.

Ingredients (7 ingredients)

  • 1 Rolle Puff pastry (from the refrigerated section)
  • 150 g Cooked ham
  • 150 g Grated cheese (Gouda, Emmental or Mozzarella)
  • 2 EL Cream cheese or Crème fraîche
  • 1 Stück Egg (for brushing)
  • Chives or parsley (optional)
  • Pepper to taste

Preparation (7 steps)

Prepare the puff pastry

Roll out the puff pastry and leave it on the baking paper.

Spread cream cheese

Spread 2 tbsp of cream cheese or crème fraîche evenly on the puff pastry.

Add ham and cheese

Place 150 g of cooked ham on top and sprinkle with 150 g of grated cheese.

Season

Optionally add herbs and lightly season with pepper to taste.

Form the strudel

Roll up the puff pastry and seal the ends well.

Brush

Brush the strudel with 1 egg.

Bake

Bake the strudel at 220 °C top/bottom heat for about 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
