Description

This hearty goulash pot with plantains is real comfort food! I especially like to make it when it's cold outside. The combination of spicy pork goulash and slightly sweet plantain is simply unbeatable. The dish is a bit more complex to prepare, but it's definitely worth it. The plantains give the stew a special touch and a slightly creamy consistency. Perfect for a cozy dinner with friends or family. If you like, you can add some chili to give the dish an extra spiciness.

Ingredients (13 ingredients)

  • 2 clove Garlic
  • 3 piece small Onions
  • 3 piece Bell peppers
  • 425 ml Vegetable corn
  • 2 piece Plantains
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 750 g Pork goulash
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 tsp Tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Flour
  • 50 g Bacon
  • Parsley

Preparation (10 steps)

Chop garlic and onions

Thermomix® Setting
3 sec/Speed 7, 3 sec/Speed 5

Put 2 cloves of garlic in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./level 7. Add 3 small onions and chop for 3 sec./level 5.

Sauté onions

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Add 2 tbsp of oil and sauté for 3 min./120°C/level 1.

Fry meat (NOT in the Thermomix!)

Wash 750 g of pork goulash, pat dry and fry in a separate pan with a little oil until golden brown. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Chop peppers

Clean 3 bell peppers, wash, cut into small pieces and put in the mixing bowl. Chop for 3 sec./level 4.

Sauté peppers and bananas

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Add the peppers and 2 peeled plantains (approx. 250 g each), cut into slices, to the onions in the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/level 1.

Add meat, tomato paste and flour

Put the fried meat back into the mixing bowl. Stir in 1-2 tsp of tomato paste. Sprinkle 1 tbsp of flour over it.

Simmer stew

Thermomix® Setting
60 min/212°F/Speed 1/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Add 1 liter of water and 1 piece (approx. 50 g) of bacon. Cook for 60 min./100°C/level 1/reverse.

Add corn and heat

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/212°F/Speed 1/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Rinse 1 can (425 ml) of vegetable corn, drain and put in the mixing bowl. Heat for 5 min./100°C/level 1/reverse.

Dice and add bacon

Remove the bacon, cut into small cubes and put back into the mixing bowl.

Season and serve

Season with salt and pepper. Wash, chop and sprinkle parsley on the stew. Then serve.
