Description

This orange chicken dish is a real treat, perfect for a comforting family meal. Tender and juicy chicken thighs are enhanced by a sweet and fragrant orange sauce. I love preparing this recipe because it is simple and quick to make, while offering a tasty and elegant result. The aroma of fresh rosemary blends perfectly with the tangy notes of orange, creating a symphony of flavors in the mouth. Accompanied by basmati rice or homemade mashed potatoes, this dish is guaranteed to be a hit with all guests. A real ray of sunshine on the plate!

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 4 piece chicken thighs
  • 50 g flour
  • 4 c. à s. olive oil
  • 20 cl vegetable stock
  • 5 cl dry white wine
  • 4 pinch fine salt
  • 4 pinch mill pepper
  • 1 brin rosemary
  • 2 piece organic oranges

Preparation (5 steps)

Orange zest and orange juice

Zest half of the oranges into a bowl using a grater. Squeeze all the oranges to extract the juice and reserve it in another bowl. Reserve.

Chicken preparation

Coat the chicken thighs in flour. Make sure they are well covered on all sides.

Chicken cooking

Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over high heat. Add the chicken thighs and brown them on each side.

Deglaze and simmer

Pour the white wine into the pan to deglaze and let it evaporate. Add half of the orange juice, vegetable stock and rosemary. Cover and simmer over medium heat for 40 minutes, turning the chicken from time to time.

Adding the zest and the rest of the juice

10 minutes before the end of cooking, pour the rest of the orange juice and the grated zest over the chicken. Let simmer.
