Description

These chipotle fish tacos are an explosion of Mexican flavour in every bite. The chipotle sauce, with its smoky and spicy touch, perfectly complements the white fish, creating an irresistible combination. I often prepare them for a quick weeknight dinner or an informal gathering with friends. The recipe is very simple and adapts to all tastes, you can use corn or wheat tortillas, as you prefer. In addition, the fish cooks in a short time, which makes this dish an ideal option for when you don't have much time. Go ahead and try them, you will love them! Perfect for a taco night or a Mexican themed meal.

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 4 piece Corn tortillas (or wheat)
  • 200 g White fish
  • 2 piece Ripe tomato
  • 0.5 piece Onion
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 2 piece Chipotle chilli
  • 300 ml Water
  • 15 g Extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Ground black pepper

Initial cooking of the ingredients for the sauce

Thermomix® Setting
10 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

In the Thermomix bowl, add 300 ml of water, 1 tomato and 2 chipotle chillies. Program 10 Min./100°C/Stufe 1.

Preparation of the chipotle sauce

Thermomix® Setting
1 min/Speed 10

Remove the tomato and chillies from the bowl. Devein the chillies (to reduce the spice) and peel the tomato. Place the tomato and the deveined chillies in the Thermomix bowl. Add 1 clove of garlic and salt to taste. Crush 1 Min./Stufe 10.

Reserve the sauce

Pour the chipotle sauce into a container and set aside.

Chop the onion

Thermomix® Setting
3 sec/Speed 5

Chop 0.5 onion into quarters and place it in the Thermomix bowl. Program 3 Sek./Stufe 5.

Sauté the onion and tomato

Thermomix® Setting
10 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Add 15 g of extra virgin olive oil to the chopped onion in the Thermomix bowl. Program 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1. Then, cut 2 ripe tomatoes into small pieces and add them to the bowl. Program 10 Min./100°C/Stufe 1.

Cook the fish

Thermomix® Setting
15 min/212°F/Linkslauf Speed 1 100 Reverse

Cut 200 g of white fish into irregular pieces and add them to the Thermomix bowl along with the onion and tomato mixture. Season with salt and ground black pepper to taste. Pour part of the reserved chipotle sauce into the bowl. Program 15 Min./100°C/Linkslauf Stufe 1.

Heat the tortillas

Heat the corn tortillas (or wheat) in a frying pan or griddle.

Serve the tacos

Fill the hot tortillas with the chipotle fish mixture. Serve immediately.
