Description

This Normandy apple tart is a comforting and economical dessert, perfect for autumn days or to end a festive meal. The shortcrust pastry, prepared homemade or bought, serves as a base for a creamy filling with melting apples. I love the simplicity of this dessert, which highlights the authentic taste of apples. The thick fresh cream brings an incomparable smoothness, while the vanilla delicately perfumes the whole. Easy to make, this tart is ideal for beginner cooks and will please the whole family. A little icing sugar sprinkled before serving and that's it! It is perfect for a Sunday brunch or a gourmet snack.

Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 4 piece Golden apples
  • 250 g flour
  • 200 g thick fresh cream
  • 3 piece eggs
  • 125 g butter
  • 100 g icing sugar or caster sugar
  • 1 piece egg yolk
  • Water
  • 1 c. à s. vanilla flavouring or 2 sachets of vanilla sugar
  • 1 c. à s. icing sugar
  • 1 pinch salt or fine salt

Preparation (5 steps)

Prepare apples

Peel, core and cut the apples into pieces (slices, cubes or quarters). Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Prepare shortcrust pastry

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 4

Put 250 g flour, 125 g butter in pieces, 1 pinch of salt and 1 egg yolk in the mixing bowl. Mix for 20 sec/speed 4. Add a little water if necessary until a dough forms. Do not work the dough for too long. Wrap the dough in cling film and let it rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

Prepare cream

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 3

Put 200 g thick fresh cream, 100 g sugar, 1 tablespoon of vanilla flavouring or 2 packets of vanilla sugar and 3 eggs in the mixing bowl. Mix for 20 sec/speed 3 until a smooth mixture is obtained.

Cover tart

Roll out the dough on a floured work surface and place in a tart tin. Prick the bottom with a fork. Spread the apple pieces on the dough and pour over the cream.

Bake tart

Bake the tart in the preheated oven at 180°C for 35-40 minutes, until golden brown. After baking, sprinkle with icing sugar.
