Description

This layer cake is a classic baking recipe that is ideal for festive occasions. With butter, sugar, eggs and a hint of rum, a juicy dough is created that is baked in a loaf pan. The preparation takes about an hour and the cake is a delicious dessert for the whole family.

Mix fat until frothy

Put 250g butter or margarine into the mixing bowl and mix for 3 min./speed 4 until frothy.

Add sugar, vanilla sugar, eggs and egg yolks

Gradually add 250g sugar, 1 packet vanilla sugar, 2 eggs and 4 egg yolks and stir for 2 min./speed 3.

Add rum

Add 1-2 tbsp rum and stir for 30 sec./speed 2.

Mix and stir in flour, Gustin and baking powder

Mix 150g flour, 100g Gustin and 3 level tsp baking powder, sift and gradually add and stir in for 1 min./speed 3.

Fold in beaten egg whites

Beat 4 egg whites until stiff and carefully fold into the dough.

Fill dough into mold and bake

Line a loaf pan with greased parchment paper. Spread about 1 tbsp of dough evenly with a brush. Place the mold on the rack in the oven.

Distance between grill and rack approx. 20cm, and bake the dough layer under the preheated grill until light brown. Preheat the grill for 20min at highest heat. Baking time approx. 2min
