Description

This date cream cheese dip with curry is a real treat! The sweetness of the dates harmonizes wonderfully with the spiciness of the curry powder and the slight sharpness of the cayenne pepper. I love making this dip when I invite friends over. It is quick to prepare and always well received. It tastes particularly delicious with crackers, vegetable sticks or bread. If you like it a little milder, you can also leave out the cayenne pepper. An absolute must for every party or as a delicious snack in between!

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 300 g Cream cheese
  • 150 g Dates, pitted
  • 150 g Greek yogurt, 10% fat
  • 3 tsp Curry powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 knife tip Cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp Lime juice
  • to taste Black pepper from the mill

Preparation (4 steps)

Chop dates

Thermomix® Setting
5 sec/Speed 5

Put 150g pitted dates in the mixing bowl and chop for 5 seconds/speed 5. If necessary, use the spatula to push down from the edge and repeat the process until the dates are finely chopped.

Puree dates with yogurt

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 8

Add 150g Greek yogurt (10% fat) to the chopped dates in the mixing bowl and puree for 20 seconds/speed 8 until a creamy mass is formed. If necessary, use the spatula to push down from the edge and repeat the process.

Complete dip

Thermomix® Setting
15 sec/Speed 4

Add 300g cream cheese, 3 tsp curry powder, 1 tsp salt, 1 pinch of cayenne pepper, 1 tsp lime juice and some black pepper from the mill to the mixing bowl and stir for 15 seconds/speed 4 until all ingredients are well mixed. Scrape down the sides with the spatula and stir again briefly if necessary.

Season and serve

Season the date cream cheese dip with curry to taste and decorate with a little curry powder and whole dates if desired. Refrigerate the dip for at least 30 minutes before serving.
