Description

This Keto Gyros from baking sheet is a hearty and low-carbohydrate main course, ideal for a low-carb diet. Juicy, marinated pork is combined with peppers and onions and topped with cheese. Preparation takes about 50 minutes and yields 4 servings. Perfect for a protein-rich dinner.

Ingredients (16 ingredients)

  • 600 g Pork (from the topside or neck)
  • 100 ml Olive oil
  • 2 EL Gyros spice
  • 2 TL Sweet paprika powder
  • 1 TL Garlic powder
  • 0.5 TL Oregano
  • 0.5 TL Thyme
  • 0.5 TL Rosemary
  • 0.5 TL Marjoram
  • 0.5 TL Salt
  • 0.5 TL Pepper
  • 0.25 TL red pepper
  • 1 Stück yellow pepper
  • 1 Stück Onion
  • 1 Stück grated Cheese (e.g. Gouda or Mozzarella)
  • 150 g geriebener Käse (z.B. Gouda oder Mozzarella)

Preparation (11 steps)

Prepare marinade

Thermomix® Setting

Put 100g olive oil, 2 tbsp lemon juice, 2 tsp gyros spice, 1 tsp sweet paprika powder, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp oregano, 1/2 tsp thyme, 1/2 tsp rosemary, 1/2 tsp marjoram, 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper into the mixing bowl and mix for 15 sec./speed 3.

Transfer marinade

Pour the prepared marinade from the mixing bowl into a bowl and set aside.

Prepare vegetables

Cut 1 red pepper, 1 yellow pepper and 1 onion into coarse pieces and place in the mixing bowl. Chop for 3 sec./speed 4.

Sauté vegetables

Remove the chopped vegetables from the mixing bowl and set aside.

Prepare meat

Cut 600g pork (from the topside or neck) into thin slices and place in the bowl with the marinade. Mix well so that all pieces of meat are covered with marinade.

Fry the meat

Fry the marinated meat in portions in a separate pan until golden brown.

Prepare gyros mixture

Put the fried meat and the chopped vegetables into the mixing bowl. Cook for 10 min./100°C/speed 1 reverse.

Add cheese

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/140°F/Speed 1 140°F Reverse

Add 150g grated cheese (e.g. Gouda or Mozzarella) to the gyros mixture in the mixing bowl and melt for 2 min./60°C/speed 1 reverse.

Spread gyros on baking sheet

Remove the finished Keto Gyros from baking sheet from the mixing bowl and spread on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.

Bake

Bake the gyros in a preheated oven at 200°C top/bottom heat for approx. 20 minutes until the cheese is golden brown.

Serve

Remove the Keto Gyros from baking sheet from the oven and serve. Zaziki or a salad goes well with this.
