Description

This gratinated pumpkin is a tasty and easy-to-prepare side dish, perfect for autumn! The butternut squash, with its delicate sweetness, is cut into wedges, breaded and then cooked to obtain a golden and crispy crust. I often prepare it when I have guests for dinner, because it is a tasty and original vegetarian alternative. Sweet paprika and dried sage add an extra touch of flavor. Serve it hot with your favorite sauces for an even more delicious experience! The preparation is quick and easy, ideal for those who have little time but do not want to give up taste.

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 400 g Butternut pumpkin
  • 60 g Flour
  • 2 piece Eggs
  • 30 g Breadcrumbs
  • 30 g Corn flour
  • 1 tsp Sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp Dried sage
  • Fine salt
  • Seed oil spray

Preparation (5 steps)

Pumpkin preparation

We obtain discs of about 1 cm thick from the butternut squash. Remove the peel and then divide each disc into 4 quarters.

Preparation of the breading

Prepare three bowls: in the first one, put the flour. In the second one, break and beat the eggs with a pinch of salt. In the third, mix breadcrumbs, corn flour, sweet paprika and dried sage.

Breading the pumpkin

Pass each piece of pumpkin first in the flour, then in the egg and finally in the breadcrumbs. Proceed in the same way for all the pumpkin quarters and set them aside.

Cooking the pumpkin

Arrange the breaded pumpkin pieces in the basket of the air fryer covered with baking paper. Spray a generous amount of seed oil spray and cook at 200 °C for 15 minutes in the air fryer. Halfway through cooking, turn the triangles and spray some more seed oil spray to ensure a crispy breading on both sides.

Serve

Serve the gratinated pumpkin with accompanying sauces to taste.
