Description

These cinnamon stars from the Thermomix® are a Christmas pastry with icing sugar, almonds, hazelnuts, egg white and cinnamon. The recipe is vegetarian and is suitable as a festive dessert or sweet treat. The preparation in the Thermomix® takes about 42 minutes, of which 30 minutes are active working time. The recipe makes one portion and is ideal for anyone who wants to enjoy homemade cookies during the Christmas season.

Ingredients (6 ingredients)

  • 190 g Icing sugar
  • 100 g Almonds, ground
  • 200 g Hazelnuts, ground
  • 2 Egg white
  • 1 TL Cinnamon powder
  • 1 Spritzer Lemon juice

Preparation (7 steps)

Whisk egg white

Thermomix® Setting

Put 2 egg whites and 190g icing sugar into the mixing bowl and whisk with butterfly 3 min./speed 3.5 to a stiff egg white glaze.

Divide glaze

Transfer 1/3 of the egg white glaze and set aside.

Prepare dough

Thermomix® Setting

Add 100g ground almonds, 100g ground hazelnuts and 1 tsp cinnamon powder to the remaining 2/3 of the egg white glaze in the mixing bowl and stir 15 sec./speed 3. Then add 1 splash of lemon juice and stir in with the spatula.

Knead dough

Remove the dough from the mixing bowl and roll out on the remaining 100g ground hazelnuts to about 8-10 mm thick.

Cut out stars

Cut out stars from the dough and place on a baking tray lined with baking paper.

Apply glaze

Generously spread the cut-out stars with the remaining egg white glaze.

Bake

Bake the cinnamon stars in a preheated oven at 150 °C top/bottom heat for approx. 10-12 min. After 8 min. open the oven with a cooking spoon a small gap for the remaining baking time.
