Description

This caramelized chicken with tomato sauce is a tasty and easy dish to prepare with your Thermomix®. I love this recipe because it is quick and perfect for a weeknight dinner. The chicken pieces are tender and coated in an irresistible sweet and sour sauce. The combination of ketchup, honey and soy sauce provides an umami flavor that will please the whole family. Serve with basmati rice for a complete and balanced meal. You can also add other vegetables such as broccoli or sugar snap peas for more color and nutrients. A real treat!

  • 3 c. à soupe Ketchup
  • 2 c. à soupe Honey
  • 2 c. à soupe Vinegar
  • 1 c. à soupe Soy sauce
  • 1 c. à soupe Hoisin sauce
  • 0.5 c. à café Spices
  • 1 piece Onion(s)
  • 1 piece Red pepper(s)

  • 150 ml Vegetable stock

Cut the onion in half and put it in the Thermomix® bowl. Chop for 3 Sek./Stufe 5. Add the peanut oil and sauté for 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Adding vegetables

Cut the red pepper, green pepper and carrot into thin strips. Add the cut vegetables to the Thermomix® bowl and cook for 4 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Sauce preparation

Add the vegetable stock and cornstarch to the Thermomix® bowl. Mix for 10 Sek./Stufe 3.

Cooking the sauce

Add the ketchup, honey, vinegar, soy sauce, hoisin sauce and spices to the Thermomix® bowl. Cook for 5 Min./100°C/Stufe 2.

Cooking the chicken

Cut the chicken breasts into pieces. Heat peanut oil in a pan and cook the chicken until golden brown and cooked through. Salt and pepper.

Final assembly

Add the cooked chicken to the Thermomix® bowl. Mix gently for 2 Min./90°C/Linkslauf Stufe 1. Season with salt and pepper if necessary.
