Description

This Butterkuchen Streusel Cake is a classic recipe for a delicious cake. The yeast dough is topped with butter and sugar and baked in the oven. Preparation takes about 150 minutes and yields one cake. Ideal for breakfast or as a dessert.

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 20 g Butter
  • 150 g Flour
  • 6 g Fresh yeast
  • 1 TL Dry yeast
  • 20 g Sugar
  • 50 ml Milk
  • 1 Stück Egg
  • 1 Päckchen Vanilla sugar
  • 50 g Butter, cold, diced
  • 50 g Sugar

Preparation (9 steps)

Melt butter

Melt 20 g of butter in a saucepan and remove from the heat.

Prepare yeast dough

Place 150 g of flour in a bowl and form a well. Sprinkle 6 g of fresh yeast or 1 tsp of dry yeast and 20 g of sugar into the well. Pour 50 ml of milk into the melted butter and add to the well. Mix with yeast and sugar and let rest for 10-15 minutes.

Knead yeast dough

Add 1 egg and 1 packet of vanilla sugar and knead with the Patix dough knife instead of the standard knife for 2 min./kneading stage to form a smooth yeast dough.

Let the dough rise

Cover the dough and let it rise for 20 minutes.

Shape and rest the dough

Knead the dough again and shape it into a strand about 50 cm long. Place in the greased baking pan and let rest again, covered, for 20 minutes.

Form indentations

After the resting time, press many small indentations into the surface of the dough with your thumb or index finger.

Add topping

Cut 50 g of butter, cold, diced, into small cubes. Place a butter cube in each indentation. Sprinkle 50 g of sugar evenly over the entire dough.

Let the dough rise

Cover the baking pan with the lid and let the dough rise significantly for 30-45 minutes.

Baking

Bake the butter cake for 25 minutes on the lowest heat, then 5 minutes on the highest heat. After baking, remove the butter cake from the pan and let it cool on a wire rack.
