  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 piece skin-on chicken breasts
  • 1 piece red onion
  • 2 clove garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp sumac
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 500 ml low-salt chicken stock
  • 500 g cooked lentils
  • 125 g kale
  • 1 piece lemon
  • 50 g green olives
  • parsley

Prepare the onion and garlic

Peel and halve the red onion. Place the red onion halves and garlic cloves into the mixing bowl and chop for 3 Sec./Stufe 5.

Add olive oil to the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Add stock, lentils, kale, lemon and olives

Add low-salt chicken stock, cooked lentils, kale, lemon slices and green olives to the mixing bowl. Stir to combine.

Cook the lentils and kale

Sear the chicken

While the lentils and kale are cooking, heat the olive oil in a casserole dish or deep frying pan over a medium-high heat. Season the chicken all over and add to the pan, skin-side down. Cook for 6-8 mins until well browned and golden, then flip and cook for 2-3 mins until just golden, they don’t need to be cooked through at this point. Remove the chicken to a plate.

Add chicken and finish cooking

Nestle the chicken breasts back in the mixing bowl, skin-side up and cook for 8 Min./100°C/Stufe 1 until reduced and the chicken is cooked through.
