Description

With the Thermomix®, stuffed peppers with ground meat filling in tomato sauce are easy and quick to make. This hearty main course with peppers, ground meat, onions and garlic is prepared in about 60 minutes and yields 4 servings. Ideal for lovers of Mediterranean and Italian cuisine. A hearty family meal that is guaranteed to fill you up.

Ingredients (22 ingredients)

  • 4 Stück Bell peppers, two red and two yellow
  • 600 g mixed ground meat
  • 200 ml Milk
  • 1 Stück Bread roll, stale
  • 1 Stück Egg
  • 1 Stück medium-sized Onion
  • 1 Zehe Garlic clove
  • 2 TL Paprika powder, mild or hot
  • 1 TL Salt
  • 1 TL Marjoram, dried
  • 100 g Feta
  • 800 g Canned Tomatoes, whole and peeled
  • 1 Stück medium-sized Onion
  • 1 Zehe Garlic clove
  • 2 EL Tomato paste
  • 1 EL Paprika-Tomato paste
  • 1 EL Ajvar (Paprika relish)
  • 1 TL Italian Herbs (dried herbs)
  • 1 Prise Salt
  • 1 Prise Sugar
  • 1 Msp. Cayenne pepper
  • 2 EL Olive oil

Preparation (12 steps)

Preheat oven

Preheat the oven to 180°C circulating air.

Soak bread rolls

Cut the stale bread roll (or fresh bread rolls) into cubes and place in a bowl. Pour 200 ml of milk over it and let it soak.

Prepare peppers

Wash the bell peppers, cut off a approx. 1.5 cm "lid" from the top and carefully remove the dividing walls and cores with a small sharp knife. Remove the green stem from each of the lids.

Chop onion and garlic

Peel the onion, halve it and put it in the mixing bowl with the garlic clove. Chop 3 sec./speed 5.

Prepare ground meat mixture

Put the ground meat in a bowl. Add the chopped onion and garlic from the mixing bowl to the ground meat. Add an egg, 2 tsp paprika powder, 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp dried marjoram. Squeeze the milk out of the bread roll cubes and add to the ground meat as well. Knead with a food processor or your hands.

Fill peppers

Fill the bell peppers with the ground meat mixture and place the lid with the hole on top. If necessary, carefully cut off a little at the bottom so that the filled pepper has a better stand.

Optional: Add feta

If desired, use your fingers to press a depression downwards through the hole in the pepper lid and crumble the feta into it until it peeks out slightly at the top.

Chop onion and garlic for the sauce

Prepare sauce

Put 2 tbsp olive oil in the mixing bowl, add the chopped onion and garlic and sauté 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Roast tomato paste

Add 2 tbsp tomato paste and 1 tbsp paprika-tomato paste and sauté 1 min./120°C/speed 1.

Finish sauce

Thermomix® Setting

Add the 800 g canned tomatoes (complete content), 1 tbsp ajvar, 1 pinch of sugar, 1 pinch of salt, 1 tsp Italian herbs and 1 pinch of cayenne pepper. Stir 5 sec./speed 4 and then simmer 10 min./100°C/speed 1. Season to taste with salt, sugar, ajvar, cayenne pepper and Italian herbs.

Place peppers in sauce and cook

Place the stuffed peppers in an ovenproof roasting pan or casserole dish and pour the sauce over them. If there is any ground meat left over, form it into balls and add it to the sauce. Cover with a lid (or aluminum foil) and cook in the preheated oven (middle) for 30 minutes. Then cook without a lid for another 15 minutes. Optional: Turn on the grill for a few minutes to roast the peppers on top.
