Description

This chickpea curry is a comforting and flavorful vegetarian dish. I love making it because it is both simple and quick to make with the Thermomix®. Spices like cumin, garam masala and turmeric go wonderfully with the sweetness of the chickpeas and the acidity of the tomatoes. It's a perfect dish for a weekday lunch or dinner, and it's ideal for vegetarians and vegans. It can be accompanied by basmati rice for a complete and tasty meal. A real delight for the taste buds!

Ingredients (14 ingredients)

  • 1 c. à c. cumin powder
  • 1 c. à c. garam masala
  • 1 c. à c. coriander powder
  • 1 c. à c. chili powder
  • Salt
  • 1 petit bouquet coriander
  • 1 c. à c. turmeric
  • 0.5 can tomato
  • 0.5 c. à c. spices
  • 2 c. à c. ghee
  • 1 keine chopped onion
  • 2 gousses garlic
  • 3 cm fresh grated ginger
  • 1 grosse boîte chickpea

Preparation of ingredients

Chop the onion and garlic. Grate the fresh ginger. If using asafoetida, prepare it. Measure the powdered spices and salt.

Put the onion and garlic in the Thermomix bowl and chop for 3 Sek./Stufe 5. Scrape the sides of the bowl with a spatula.

Sauté the onion, garlic and ginger

Add the ghee (or Ghi) to the Thermomix bowl. Add the asafoetida (optional). Sauté the onion, garlic and ginger for 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Add the tomatoes and spices

Thermomix® Setting
10 min/212°F/Speed 2 100

Add the half can of tomatoes, cumin powder, garam masala, coriander powder, chili powder (or sweet paprika), salt, turmeric and half a teaspoon of spices to the Thermomix bowl. Cook for 10 Min./100°C/Stufe 2.

Add the chickpeas

15 min/212°F/Linkslauf Speed 1 100 Reverse

Add the large can of drained chickpeas to the Thermomix bowl. Cook for 15 Min./100°C/Linkslauf Stufe 1.

Add the coriander and serve

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 1/Linkslauf Reverse

Add the small bunch of chopped coriander to the Thermomix bowl. Mix gently for 10 Sek./Stufe 1/Linkslauf. Serve hot with basmati rice.
