Description

This Djuvec rice is a hearty main course with pork, peppers, tomatoes and rice. It is prepared in the Thermomix®, which makes the dish quick and easy to prepare. Ideal for lunch or dinner with friends and family. The recipe is designed for 6 servings.

Ingredients (18 ingredients)

  • 250 g Onions
  • 40 g Oil
  • 2 piece Garlic cloves
  • 1 piece red pepper
  • 1 piece green pepper
  • 1 Stange Celery stalk
  • 250 g Rice
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tsp Paprika powder
  • 0.5 tsp Thyme
  • 0.5 tsp Rosemary
  • 0.5 tsp Oregano
  • 1 pinch Sugar
  • 500 ml Vegetable broth
  • 200 g sieved tomatoes
  • 500 g Pork (from the topside)

Preparation (9 steps)

Chop onions

Put 250 g onions into the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 5.

Sauté onions

Add 40 g oil to the chopped onions in the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Chop garlic

Add 2 cloves of garlic to the onions in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 7.

Chop peppers and celery

Add 1 red pepper (approx. 150g), 1 green pepper (approx. 150g) and 1 stalk of celery (approx. 50g) in coarse pieces to the ingredients in the mixing bowl and chop for 5 sec./speed 4.

Add rice, tomato paste and spices

Add 250 g rice, 2 tbsp tomato paste, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper, 1 tsp paprika powder, 1/2 tsp thyme, 1/2 tsp rosemary, 1/2 tsp oregano and 1 pinch of sugar to the ingredients in the mixing bowl.

Add liquid and cook

Add 500 ml vegetable broth and 200 g sieved tomatoes to the ingredients in the mixing bowl and cook for 25 min./100°C/reverse direction speed 1 without a measuring cup. Use a spatula to loosen the rice from the bottom if it sticks.

Prepare meat

While the rice is cooking, cut 500 g pork (from the topside) into bite-sized pieces and fry in a separate pan with some oil. Season with salt and pepper.

Add meat and mix

After the cooking time, add the fried meat to the rice in the mixing bowl and carefully fold in for 5 sec./reverse direction speed 2.

Season and serve

Season the Djuvec rice with meat to taste and serve.
