Description

I've been making this chocolate loaf cake since I was a kid. It's super easy to prepare and tastes absolutely delicious! The combination of the moist dough and the chocolate chips is simply unbeatable. I especially like that you can prepare it well in advance and it's still moist the next day. Perfect for birthdays, Christmas or just with coffee. An absolute favorite recipe that is always well received! Preparation with the Thermomix® is child's play.

Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 125 g soft butter
  • 200 g sugar
  • 1 Pck. vanilla sugar
  • 3 eggs (size M)
  • 250 g flour
  • 0.5 Pck. baking powder
  • 125 ml milk
  • 150 g chocolate chips
  • 150 g bittersweet chocolate couverture
  • 1 TL oil
  • cocoa for dusting

Mix butter, sugar and vanilla sugar

Place 125 g soft butter, 200 g sugar and 1 packet vanilla sugar in the mixing bowl and mix for 3 min./speed 4.

Add eggs

Add 3 eggs (size M) and mix for another 2 min./speed 4.

Mix and add flour and baking powder

Mix 250 g flour and ½ packet baking powder, add to the mixing bowl and stir in together with 125 ml milk for 1 min./speed 3. Use a spatula to scrape everything from the edge.

Fold in chocolate chips

30 sec/keine/Speed 2 Reverse

Add 2 packets (à 75 g) of chocolate chips and fold in for 30 sec./reverse speed 2.

Pour the dough into the loaf pan

Pour the dough into a greased and floured loaf pan (approx. 25 cm length).

Bake the cake

Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 175°C (top/bottom heat) for approx. 50-60 minutes. Do a toothpick test!

Melt the couverture

Put 150 g of bittersweet chocolate couverture in pieces into the mixing bowl and melt for 3 min./50°C/speed 2.

Add oil

10 sec/keine/Speed 3

Add 1 tsp oil and mix for 10 sec./speed 3.

Coat the cake with couverture

Coat the cooled cake with the couverture and dust with cocoa.
