Description

This homemade egg custard is a traditional dessert that always triumphs. The recipe is very simple and does not require an oven, making it perfect for any occasion. The base of eggs and milk gives it a smooth and creamy texture, while the touch of vanilla (optional) enhances its flavor. Ideal to prepare in advance, since it needs a few hours of refrigeration to set well. It is an economical and delicious dessert that the whole family will love. Ingredients (5 ingredients)

  • 4 piece Large eggs
  • 500 ml Whole or semi-skimmed milk
  • 150 g Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract or essence (Optional)
  • Liquid caramel

Preparation (8 steps)

Mix the ingredients

In a large bowl, add the eggs, milk, sugar and vanilla extract (optional). Mix well with a hand whisk until all ingredients are fully integrated.

Caramelize the molds

Pour the liquid caramel into the bottom of the individual custard molds, making sure to cover the entire surface.

Pour the mixture into the molds

Pour the custard mixture into the caramelized molds, filling them almost to the edge.

Prepare the water bath

Place 500 ml of water in the Thermomix bowl. Introduce the custard molds into the Varoma container.

Place the Varoma on the Thermomix and program 20 Min./Varoma/Stufe 1.

Continue cooking

15 min/Varoma/Speed 1 Varoma

Cover the custards with a kitchen towel and cover the Varoma. Program 15 Min./Varoma/Stufe 1.

Check the cooking

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/Varoma/Speed 1 Varoma

Check the cooking point by pricking with a toothpick. If necessary, cover again and leave a few more minutes until they are well set. If they are not ready, program 5 Min./Varoma/Stufe 1 and repeat the check.

Cool and refrigerate

Let cool at room temperature and then transfer the custards to the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before serving.
