Description

This Cavatelli dish with seafood is an absolute classic of Italian cuisine! I especially like to make it in the summer when the tomatoes are nice and ripe and the seafood comes fresh from the market. The combination of the savory clams, the slight spiciness of the chili pepper, and the fresh parsley is simply unbeatable. The preparation is super easy and quick, so it is also perfect for a quick lunch during the week. If you like it a little milder, you can of course leave out the chili pepper. A dash of good extra virgin olive oil rounds off the dish perfectly. Buon appetito!

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 320 g Cavatelli
  • 1 kg Mussels
  • 200 g Cherry tomatoes
  • 1 bunch Parsley
  • 2 clove Garlic
  • 50 ml Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 piece Chili pepper
  • 1 pinch Pepper
  • 1 pinch Salt

Preparation (9 steps)

Mussels clean

Clean the mussels from external impurities. Remove the byssus. Put the cleaned mussels aside.

Garlic, parsley and chili pepper chop

A clove of garlic, a few leaves of parsley and a small piece of chili pepper in the bowl. 3 Sec./Level 7 chop.

Sauté the mussels

Thermomix® Setting

Add a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and 3 Min./120°C/Level 1 sauté. Add the mussels and cook for 5 Min./100°C/Level 1 until they are all open.

Remove and shell the mussels

Remove the mussels and shell a good half of them. Set aside the mussel liquid after filtering it.

Prepare cherry tomatoes

In the bowl add a drizzle of oil, some chopped parsley, a clove of garlic, the cherry tomatoes cut into 4 parts, a pinch of salt and a sprinkling of pepper.

Cook cherry tomatoes

Cook for 10 Min./100°C/Level 1. The cherry tomatoes release their vegetation water and soften.

Blend cherry tomatoes

Remove half of the cherry tomatoes and blend for 10 Sek./Level 8.

Prepare sauce

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/212°F/Speed 2 100

In the seasoning pan, add the mussels to the cherry tomatoes, the blended cherry tomatoes and the liquid released from the previously filtered mussels. Cook for 5 Min./100°C/Level 2.

Mix cavatelli

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/212°F/Linkslauf Speed 1 100 Reverse

Add the cavatelli that you will drain very al dente. If necessary, add a ladle of pasta cooking water and mix to mix the cavatelli and mussel sauce. Mix for 2 Min./100°C/Reverse rotation Level 1.
