Description

This potato casserole with ground meat and feta is a hearty and filling dish, perfect for a cozy evening. The combination of creamy sauce, savory ground meat, and salty feta makes this casserole an absolute taste sensation. I especially like to make it in the fall when the potatoes are freshly harvested. The dish can be prepared well in advance and is therefore ideal for stressful days. If you like it a little spicier, you can add a pinch of chili flakes. An absolute favorite recipe that is always well received by friends and family!

Ingredients (13 ingredients)

  • 750 g Potatoes, predominantly waxy, weighed with peel
  • 300 g Ground meat, mixed
  • 3 tsp Salt, level
  • 1 tsp Vegetable broth
  • 100 ml Cooking cream
  • 2 tbsp Cream cheese, heaped
  • 200 g Sour cream
  • 200 g Feta cheese
  • 200 ml Water
  • to taste Pepper
  • to taste Thyme, rubbed
  • Marjoram, rubbed
  • 1 pinch Rosemary, rosemary powder

Preparation (5 steps)

Pre-cook potatoes

Thermomix® Setting
20 min/Varoma/Speed 1 Varoma

Place 750 g of predominantly waxy potatoes with peel in the simmering basket. Add 200 ml of water and 2 tsp of salt to the mixing bowl, insert the simmering basket and cook for 20 min./Varoma/speed 1. Then let the potatoes cool in cold water, peel and slice.

Prepare ground meat

Brown 300 g of mixed ground meat with 1 tsp of salt in a pan and set aside.

Prepare sauce

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/212°F/Speed 2 100

Add 200 ml of water to the mixing bowl, add the browned ground meat, 1 tsp of vegetable broth, 100 ml of cooking cream, 2 tbsp of cream cheese and 200 g of sour cream. Season with pepper, thyme, marjoram and rosemary and cook for 5 min./100°C/speed 2. Season to taste and add salt if necessary.

Layer casserole

Distribute the potato slices in a casserole dish. Pour the sauce evenly over it. Crumble 200 g of feta cheese and sprinkle over the casserole.

Bake casserole

Place the casserole in the non-preheated oven for about 15 min. at 180 °C circulating air or 200 °C top/bottom heat until it has the desired browning.
