Description

These crispy tofu bites are a tasty and protein-rich alternative for an aperitif or a light second course. The soy sauce marinade gives the tofu an intense flavor, and the cornflake breading makes it irresistibly crispy. I often prepare them when I want something quick and tasty, and they are always a success! Perfect to accompany with a sweet and sour sauce or simply with more soy sauce. Also ideal for a vegetarian or vegan brunch.

Ingredients (7 ingredients)

  • 400 g tofu
  • 40 ml soy sauce
  • 1 piece egg
  • flour
  • cornflakes
  • olive oil
  • fine salt

Preparation of the tofu

Cut the tofu into rectangles with a knife. This step is essential for achieving even cooking and optimal crispiness.

Marinating the tofu

Put the tofu rectangles in a bowl. Add 40 ml of soy sauce and olive oil to taste. Mix gently to distribute the seasonings evenly. Cover with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes. Marinating is essential to flavor the tofu.

Preparation of the breading

In a bowl, beat 1 egg with a pinch of fine salt. Prepare a plate with flour to taste and another with crumbled cornflakes to taste.

Breading the tofu

Flour the pieces of tofu one at a time, then dip them in the beaten egg and let the excess drip off. Pass them in the corn flakes, making them adhere to all points.

Cooking in the air fryer

Arrange the pieces of tofu in the air fryer basket with parchment paper on the bottom, drizzle with a little oil and cook for 10 minutes at 200°C. This step is not performed in the Thermomix.
