Description

This avocado dip with tuna and mackerel is a recipe I often make for a quick and healthy snack. It is perfect for spreading on toast, crudités or simply enjoying it with some crackers. The combination of creamy avocado with the flavor of tuna and mackerel is delicious, and the touch of lemon gives it incredible freshness. In addition, it is prepared in the blink of an eye with the Thermomix®. Ideal for an informal dinner or an appetizer with friends! It is rich in protein and healthy fats, perfect for a balanced lifestyle.

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 80 g Mackerel in oil (1 small can)
  • 80 g White tuna in oil, canned (1 small can)
  • 0.5 piece Lemon
  • 2 piece Spring onion (thin green stems) or shallots
  • 15 ml Mayonnaise (1 generous tablespoon)
  • 0.5 piece Medium avocado
  • Ground black pepper
  • Salt (optional)
  • Extra virgin olive oil (optional)

Preparation of the ingredients

Drain the excess oil from the cans of mackerel and tuna. Crumble both contents in a bowl and reserve. Wash half a lemon and grate a little of its skin. Squeeze the juice of half a lemon and strain. Finely chop two spring onions, reserving a little for decoration.

Mix the main ingredients

In the Thermomix bowl, add the crumbled mackerel and tuna, lemon zest, strained lemon juice, chopped spring onions and 15 ml of mayonnaise. Also add ground black pepper to taste. Mix for 10 seconds at speed 3.

Incorporate the avocado

Thermomix® Setting
5 sec/keine/Speed 2/Linkslauf Reverse

Cut half an avocado into cubes. Add the avocado cubes to the Thermomix bowl. Mix gently for 5 seconds at speed 2 in the 'Linkslauf' mode.

Adjust the flavor and serve

Taste the dip and adjust salt or lemon juice if necessary. Pour the dip into a bowl or small salad bowl. Garnish with the remaining diced avocado and chopped spring onion. Add another grind of ground pepper and drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil. Serve immediately.
