Description

Meatballs Feta-Style is a hearty main course with Mediterranean flavors, prepared in the Thermomix®. The main ingredients are mixed minced meat, feta, rice and a vegetable spice paste. Approximately 4 portions are created in about 40 minutes. This recipe is ideal for a filling family meal or for lovers of Italian cuisine.

Ingredients (15 ingredients)

  • 250 g Parboiled rice
  • 1200 g Water
  • 1 TL Oil plus some for greasing
  • 1 TL Vegetable spice paste
  • 500 g mixed minced meat
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 0.5 TL sweet paprika powder
  • 1 Stück Onion, quartered
  • 3 Stück Garlic cloves
  • 350 g Cherry tomatoes
  • 200 g Feta, in pieces
  • 100 g Cream
  • 2 TL dried Italian herbs
  • Basil for garnish

Preparation (6 steps)

Prepare rice

Weigh 250 g parboiled rice into the simmering basket and rinse thoroughly under running water. Place the simmering basket in the mixing bowl. Add 1200 g water, 1 tsp oil and 1 tsp vegetable spice paste and stir with the spatula.

Prepare meatballs

Mix 500 g mixed minced meat in a bowl with 1 tsp salt, 3 pinches of pepper and ½ tsp sweet paprika powder. Form approx. 16 meatballs. Grease the Varoma with some oil and distribute the meatballs in it.

Prepare insert

Line the insert with a precisely fitting piece of baking paper, or alternatively use a silicone baking dish for the insert. Distribute 1 quartered onion, 3 garlic cloves, 350 g cherry tomatoes and 200 g feta in pieces on top. Season with 2 pinches of salt and pepper each.

Insert insert into the Varoma®, close the Varoma® and cook for 23 min./Varoma/speed 2. Set aside Varoma®. Remove the simmering basket with the help of the spatula and keep the rice warm. Empty the mixing bowl.

Prepare sauce

Thermomix® Setting
30 sec/Speed 6

Put the ingredients from the insert into the mixing bowl, add 100 g cream and 2 tsp dried Italian herbs and puree for 30 sec./speed 6. Season the sauce with salt and pepper.

Arrange

Arrange rice, meatballs and sauce on plates, serve garnished with basil.
