Description

This creamy coleslaw is an absolute must for every barbecue party! I've been making it for years and it's always a hit. The salad consists of finely chopped white cabbage, carrots and onions, which are marinated in a creamy, slightly sweet and sour sauce made from mayonnaise, buttermilk and vinegar. The long cooling time allows the flavors to blend perfectly and the salad simply tastes delicious. Perfect as a side dish to grilled food, burgers or just on its own!

Ingredients (13 ingredients)

  • 800 g White cabbage
  • 1 piece Carrot(s)
  • 1 piece Onion(s)
  • 65 g Sugar
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.13 tsp Pepper, black
  • 60 ml Milk
  • 125 g Mayonnaise
  • 60 ml Buttermilk
  • 1.5 tbsp White wine vinegar
  • 2.5 tbsp Lemon juice fresh
  • 0.25 tsp Paprika powder
  • 0.5 tsp Mustard

Prepare cabbage, carrot and onion

Cut the white cabbage into coarse pieces and place in the mixing bowl together with the peeled carrot and onion. Chop for 5 sec./level 5. If necessary, push down with the spatula and repeat the process until the desired consistency is reached.

Prepare dressing

20 sec/Speed 3

Add sugar, salt, pepper, milk, mayonnaise, buttermilk, white wine vinegar, lemon juice and paprika powder (optional mustard) to the mixing bowl and mix for 20 sec./level 3.

Mix the salad and let it soak

Place the chopped vegetables in a large bowl. Pour the dressing from the mixing bowl over it and mix everything well. Season to taste and add more seasoning if necessary. Cover the bowl and let the salad soak in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours, preferably 12-15 hours.
