Description

This Strawberry Dream Cake is a delightful treat, perfect for birthdays or a special brunch. I've been making this cake for years, and it's always a hit! The combination of fresh strawberry puree in the cake batter and the creamy vanilla frosting creates a wonderful balance of flavors. It's a bit of a project, but the result is so worth it. The cake is moist and flavorful, and the frosting adds just the right amount of sweetness. Feel free to adjust the amount of strawberry puree to your liking for a more intense strawberry flavor. This cake is sure to impress!

Ingredients (12 ingredients)

  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.66666666666667 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 0.5 cup lard
  • 2 piece eggs
  • 1 cup pureed fresh strawberries
  • 1 container vanilla buttercream frosting

Preheat oven and prepare cake pans

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans. This step is done outside of the Thermomix to prepare for baking.

Combine dry ingredients

Add 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour, 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and 1 teaspoon salt to the Thermomix bowl. Mix for 10 Sec./Stufe 4 to combine.

Set aside dry ingredients

Pour the dry ingredients into a separate bowl and set aside. This step is done outside of the Thermomix to prepare for the next steps.

Combine wet ingredients

Thermomix® Setting
5 sec/Speed 3

Add ⅔ cup milk, 1 tablespoon white vinegar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to the Thermomix bowl. Mix for 5 Sec./Stufe 3 to combine.

Set aside wet ingredients

Pour the wet ingredients into a separate bowl and set aside. This step is done outside of the Thermomix to prepare for the next steps.

Cream sugar and lard

Thermomix® Setting

Add 1 ½ cups white sugar and ½ cup lard to the Thermomix bowl. Mix for 30 Sek./Stufe 4 until creamy.

Add 2 eggs to the Thermomix bowl. Mix for 15 Sek./Stufe 4 to combine.

Combine wet and dry ingredients

Add the flour mixture alternately with the milk mixture and 1 cup pureed fresh strawberries to the Thermomix bowl, making 3 dry and 2 wet additions. Mix for 1 Min./Stufe 3.

Pour batter into pans

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans. This step is done outside of the Thermomix to prepare for baking.

Remove air bubbles

Drop cake pans 2 to 3 times on the countertop to break any air bubbles. This step is done outside of the Thermomix to prepare for baking.

Bake the cake

Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the centers of the cakes comes out clean, 30 to 40 minutes. This step is done outside of the Thermomix.

Cool the cake

Remove from the oven and let cool on wire racks for 10 minutes. Turn cakes out onto the rack to cool completely, 15 to 30 minutes more. This step is done outside of the Thermomix.

Frost the cake

Ice cooled cake using 1 (16 ounce) container vanilla buttercream frosting between the layers and on the top and sides. This step is done outside of the Thermomix.
