Description

This egg white flan is a recipe that I have been making for a long time and it always triumphs. It is a delicious way to take advantage of the egg whites that are left over from other preparations. The texture is very soft and fluffy, almost like a cloud. The caramel gives it a sweet touch and a perfect contrast. It is ideal to serve as a dessert at a family meal or to celebrate a birthday. In addition, it is very easy to make and quite economical. Go ahead and try it, you will love it! It does not contain gluten, so it is suitable for coeliacs.

Ingredients (5 ingredients)

  • 3 piece egg whites
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 pinch vanilla essence
  • water
  • sugar

Preparation (5 steps)

Caramel preparation

In a separate saucepan, prepare the caramel with sugar and a little water. Cook over medium heat until golden brown. Pour the caramel into the mould.

Whip the egg whites

Place the butterfly accessory in the glass. Add the egg whites and programme 6 Min./Stufe 3.5. When they are almost assembled, add the sugar little by little through the pouring spout.

Flavour the mixture

Add the vanilla essence to the whipped egg whites and mix 10 Sek./Stufe 3 with the butterfly accessory, until well integrated.

Bain-marie cooking

Pour the mixture into the caramelised mould. Place the mould in a bain-marie in the oven preheated to 180°C for 20 minutes. Then, turn off the oven and let it rest for 30 more minutes.

Unmould and serve

Remove from the oven, let cool completely and carefully unmould. Serve cold.
