Description

A hearty beef goulash, prepared in the Thermomix®, is a robust and warming dish, ideal for the cold season. With a preparation time of about three hours, including preparation, it's perfect for a festive dinner or a cozy family meal. The recipe yields six servings and is rich in flavors. It is a classic dish that is easy to prepare in the Thermomix®.

Ingredients (13 ingredients)

  • 500 g Onions
  • 2 Stück Garlic cloves
  • 1 Stück Carrot
  • 2 EL Clarified butter
  • 200 ml Red wine
  • 800 ml Beef stock
  • 3 EL Tomato paste
  • 2 EL Sweet paprika powder
  • 1 TL Marjoram
  • 2 Stück Bay leaves
  • 1 Kg Beef goulash
  • nach Geschmack Salt
  • nach Geschmack Pepper

Preparation (5 steps)

Prepare onions, garlic and carrot

Thermomix® Setting
3 sec/Speed 5, 3 sec/Speed 7, 3 sec/Speed 5

Place 500 g of onions in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 5. Add 2 garlic cloves and chop for 3 sec./speed 7. Peel 1 carrot, cut into pieces and place in the mixing bowl. Chop for 3 sec./speed 5.

Sauté vegetables

Add 2 tbsp clarified butter to the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Add tomato paste and spices

Thermomix® Setting
1 min/248°F/Speed 1 120 Reverse

Add 3 tbsp tomato paste, 2 tbsp sweet paprika powder, 1 tsp marjoram and 2 bay leaves to the mixing bowl and sauté briefly for 1 min./120°C/speed 1 with reverse blade rotation.

Deglaze with liquid and add goulash

Add 200 ml red wine (or sugar-free red grape juice) and 800 ml beef stock (or beef broth) to the mixing bowl. Add 1 kg beef goulash (browned in a pan beforehand!). Season with salt and pepper.

Simmer the goulash

120 min/212°F/Speed 1, 30 min/212°F/Speed 1 100 Reverse

Close the mixing bowl and simmer the goulash for 120 min./100°C/speed 1 with reverse blade rotation. After 90 minutes of cooking time, simmer for another 30 minutes/100°C/speed 1 without the lid to reduce the sauce.
