Description

These savory cannelloni bites are a hit at any barbecue party! I always make them when friends come to visit and they are gone in no time every time. The combination of spicy ground meat and creamy cream cheese, wrapped in crispy bacon, is simply unbeatable. The preparation is a bit more complex, but it is definitely worth it. It is best to prepare the rolls the day before, so that the flavors infuse nicely and you have less stress on the barbecue day. If you like it a little spicier, you can use an additional chili pepper. Have fun grilling!

Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 2 piece Onions
  • 2 piece Chili peppers
  • 250 g Ground meat
  • 50 g Emmentaler (grated)
  • 2 tbsp Paprika powder (hot)
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 250 g Cream cheese
  • 25 piece Cannelloni
  • 25 slice Bacon
  • 100 ml Barbecue sauce

Preparation (7 steps)

Chop onions and chili

Thermomix® Setting

Peel and quarter the onions. Wash and halve the chili peppers. Place the onions in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 seconds/speed 5. Then remove half of the chopped onions and set aside. Place the chili peppers in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 seconds/speed 5. Remove half of the chopped chili and set aside.

Prepare ground meat mixture

Place the ground meat, half of the chopped onions and chili, grated Emmentaler, paprika powder, salt and pepper in a bowl and mix well.

Prepare cream cheese mixture

Place the cream cheese, the remaining chopped onions and chili, salt and pepper in a bowl and mix well.

Fill cannelloni

Fill half of the cannelloni with the ground meat mixture and the other half with the cream cheese mixture.

Wrap cannelloni

Wrap each filled cannelloni roll with a slice of bacon.

Resting time

Place the wrapped rolls covered in the refrigerator overnight (at least 6 hours).

Grilling

Grill the rolls indirectly on the hot kettle grill at 150 °C for 45 minutes. Then brush with barbecue sauce and grill for another 20 minutes.
